Allproof Industries is a well-established Auckland based manufacturing and distribution company supplying the construction market with plumbing and drainage products. Allproof is seeking applications for this exciting opportunity based at our North Shore production and warehousing facility.

We require an enthusiastic and reliable self starter in our stainless production department at our factory in Beach Haven, Auckland. This is a permanent role. Essential experience including operating, Press brake, Guillotine, and MIG and TIG welder.

Trade qualified light fabricator experience in stainless is preferred, but you must have at least 2 years experience in welding/fabrication, or trade certificate level four, or higher qualification such as an engineering degree. The role includes custom made products and small volume production. Some heavy lifting required. We have a friendly and supportive team culture and are looking for a team player. The minimum hours of work are 40 hours over a standard Monday to Friday, five day working week. The pay offered is between $30 and $34per hour, depending on the applicants experience.

The ideal applicant would be an experienced tradesman with a can-do attitude who is able to weld and fold a thin to medium gauge material with a good balance of attention to detail and speed. They will be versatile, take pride in their work, be able to read detailed drawings, follow procedures and see a job through from start to finish.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices
  • Studying drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
  • Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools and power machines
  • Shaping and forming metal sections, sheet metals using appropriate machines and hand tools.
  • Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Joining metal sections using various welding techniques,
  • Setting up of various machines as per drawings and requirements
  • Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
  • Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing and grinding
  • Set up, programme and operate CNC Press Brake as per requirements.
  • Quality Control checks
  • Welding clean up (Polishing, Grinding, Blasting and pickling)
  • Adherence to set quality standards
  • Comply with company procedures, rules and regulations
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Other work as required
