Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent – 30 hours per week minimum between Tuesday to Sunday

Salary: $25 to $35 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and service-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in daily front-of-house operations, team leadership, and event coordination. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong hospitality experience who is ready to step into a leadership position within a busy and high-quality venue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of the front-of-house team to ensure smooth, high-quality service during both lunch and dinner shifts
  • Lead and supervise front-of-house staff, including conducting shift briefings, training, and ongoing development
  • Uphold exceptional service standards and actively engage with guests to ensure a memorable dining experience
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of private events and functions, including weddings, ensuring every detail runs seamlessly
  • Assist with managing reservations and bookings, ensuring effective table layouts and guest seating to support smooth service flow and enhance the overall dining experience
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Operate the POS system efficiently and handle daily cash management, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and compliant environment, adhering to all health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations
  • Handle guest feedback and service issues in a calm, proactive, and solutions-focused manner
  • Act as a point of leadership in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, ensuring consistent service and staff support

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a restaurant and hospitality venue, particularly in a licensed fine dining setting and event and/or wedding coordination.
  • Management experience is a must.

  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities, with a polished and professional manner
  • Solid understanding of front-of-house operations, including POS and booking systems
  • Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible availability is essential – must be available for a Thursday dinner shift and Friday to Sunday lunch and dinner shifts
  • Must be available to work key holidays: Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve
