About The Role

We're on the lookout for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support our Wholesale Markets Lead Team with high-quality financial analysis, forecasting and strategic insight on a 6-month-fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Group Manager, Wholesale Finance, you'll partner closely with senior leaders across trading, fuels, and portfolio operations to help drive financial outcomes and improve decision-making.

This is a dynamic and high-impact role where you will:

• Lead the financial planning and performance reporting for Wholesale Markets, including operating costs and gross margin
• Be immersed in the energy market modelling that underpins the financial planning
• Provide clear, actionable insight into financial results and partner with the business to improve performance against plan
• Drive process improvements and automation to shift focus from reporting to value-add analysis
• Support major commercial initiatives, including business case development, investment appraisal, and generation asset valuation
• Communicate complex financial concepts in a way that builds understanding and influences decisions at all levels

About You

We're looking for a collaborative and confident finance professional who brings both strategic thinking and technical capability. You'll have:

• 5+ years' experience in finance or commercial roles within complex industries
• A tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Engineering or a related field (CA/CPA or similar preferred)
• Proven experience in business partnering, financial modelling, and performance reporting
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate financial insights with clarity
• Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset
• Experience in the energy or utilities sector is an advantage, but not essential
