About Our Client Our client, Anderson Lloyd, has a proud 160+ year legacy as one of New Zealand’s most respected law firms. With over 160 professionals across four vibrant offices in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown, their people are at the heart of their success.

They are committed to making a meaningful difference—both in the work they do and how they do it. As New Zealand’s first large law firm to achieve Toitū net carbonzero accreditation and a certified Living Wage Employer, they are helping shape a sustainable and inclusive legal future. Their commitment to excellence and innovation has been consistently recognised, including multiple honours at the New Zealand Law Awards and being named a 5-Star Employer of Choice by NZ Lawyer.

The Opportunity

Our client’s Auckland office is seeking a junior to intermediate lawyer to join their specialist Projects, Energy & Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will work alongside highly regarded partners Anton Trixl, Lauren Whitehead, and Steve O’Dea on complex transactions and advisory work across New Zealand and internationally—including in the UK, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.

The team plays a leading role in New Zealand’s renewable energy sector and advises on a wide range of significant commercial, energy, and infrastructure projects. This role offers a dynamic mix of front-end contracting and hands-on project delivery work.

What You’ll Bring

Our client is looking for someone with at least 2 years’ post-admission experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Commercial contracts
  • Infrastructure or construction projects
  • Energy law

You’ll need to be commercially savvy, with strong drafting skills, a pragmatic approach, and the ability to manage varied workstreams. Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients on contract strategy, negotiation and risk will also be essential. While this isn’t a litigation role, prior experience in dispute resolution or contract management would be valuable.

Why Join Anderson Lloyd?

Our client offers more than just high-quality legal work. At Anderson Lloyd, you’ll join a supportive, forward-thinking team that values flexibility, collaboration, and career development.

They celebrate diversity and are committed to equitable employment practices at every level of the firm. They want their people to thrive, be themselves, and contribute meaningfully to their culture and success.
