Health Safety & Environment Advisor

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health Safety and Environment Advisor based in our Lower Hutt Branch to join our existing H&S Department.

At CablePrice our approach to Health and Safety is focussed on engagement and injury prevention. Our H&S team is every one of our 240+ staff in 11 locations across the country. To support the team effort, we have a small department of dedicated professionals providing advice, research and support to new initiatives and existing H&S processes.

Our team takes a collaborative approach to all of network initiatives, with each advisor being a first point of contact for a portfolio of branches.

If you have the following, we would love to hear from you:

• Demonstrable breadth and depth knowledge of health and safety frameworks and experience in supporting an engaged workforce that wants to stay safe, but needs specialist assistance to achieve that goal
• Ability to teach and educate staff / managers about safe practice
• Ability to understand, interpret and explain legislation / codes of practice / regulations and how they apply in practice
• Preferable to have Tertiary, trade or technical qualification in Health & Safety (or related field)
• Competent in WHS investigation, auditing and reporting
• Heavy industry experience desirable i.e Mining or Manufacturing, including exposure to construction and/or earth moving industries and related WHS systems
