What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the strategic development and execution of the organisation’s health and safety vision. This role champions a culture of care, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations. As a trusted advisor to the Executive and Board, the Head of Health & Safety provides expert guidance and thought leadership on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and health innovations. They lead a high-performing team, fostering talent and promoting a diverse, inclusive, and engaged culture across NZAA’s 18 regions. With a strong focus on strategic alignment, governance, and operational excellence, the role oversees the development of robust systems, frameworks, and initiatives that empower leaders, enhance wellbeing, and ensure a physically and psychologically safe workplace
About You | Mōu
You’re an experienced senior leader in health and safety, with a strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks and a proven ability to develop and manage effective Health & Safety Management Systems. Backed by relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications, you are a strategic thinker and skilled communicator, confident in influencing at all levels including executive and Board. You bring a track record of leading cultural change, improving performance, and managing risk across complex, diverse, and dispersed workforces. With strong analytical and planning capabilities, you’ll navigate challenges with confidence and foster collaboration, while maintaining a commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of industry trends
