We have an opportunity for an Operations Specialist to provide world class operations management support to our customers as part of the Kotahi Operations Team. This is a full time, permanent role.
This role manages the day-today execution of booking requests, equipment and transport, proactively identifying potential issues, resolving efficiently, and communicating to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
The Operations Specialist will monitor and ensure operational tasks are fulfilled and provide operations insights to the Planning and Optimisation teams. Key to this role will be developing and managing strong operational relationships with carriers, transport providers and other key stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the supply chain.
This role will assist the Operations Lead - South in developing/delivering continuous improvement and other value-added solutions with an aim of improving and maintaining operational excellence. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance, timeliness, and accuracy/integrity of data such as container event milestones in business-critical systems.
This role operates as part of an on-call roster across weekends and some public holidays. This is currently shared among a team of seven. The successful applicant must be available to carry out on-call duties on a roster basis.
To be successful in this role you will have at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in a supply chain or logistics role, and previous experience assimilating commercial and numerical information to drive action. You will have strong knowledge of supply chain processes and shipment planning, execution, container equipment, sea freight or equipment management processes. You will have experience using a logistics planning system, ERP systems or advanced planning systems. You will be a self-starter who takes initiative and can identify opportunities for improvement to drive better outcomes for all stakeholders.
You will also need to demonstrate the following:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent internal and external stakeholder management and relationship building skills
Strong time management, administration and organisational skills
Systems literacy with the ability to analyse and solve data discrepancies
Excellent data analysis skills
