The Opportunity
- We are looking for an experienced and driven Manager to join our people, employment and mobility tax team. This role is ideal for a tax professional with deep expertise in New Zealand employment taxes, and a passion for delivering strategic advice in a dynamic consulting or Big 4 environment.
- Lead and manage client engagements across all employment tax related matters.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax compliance for high-net-worth individuals and expatriate employees including tax returns, tax briefings, payroll and advising on tax residence implications.
- Advise on taxation of employee benefits, employee share schemes, fringe benefit tax and cross-border employment implications for employers and employees.
- Provide strategic tax advice on remuneration planning, mobility, and workforce structuring.
- Support clients with their tax governance framework with payroll and fringe benefit tax compliance reviews.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Stay abreast of legislative changes and proactively inform clients of impacts and opportunities.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Accounting/Law)
- At least 5 years’ experience in employment tax within a consulting or accounting firm in New Zealand.
- Strong technical knowledge of New Zealand tax legislation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Client-focused with a collaborative mindset.
