You will play a vital part in the establishment of Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre. Each day will bring new challenges and a diverse range of tasks and projects to tackle.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert technical advice relating to Facilities Management of Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre. In particular, the operation of pool plant and HVAC mechanical services.
- Ensure the delivery of scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Operate and maintain the BMS to control and monitor critical building functions.
- Provide ongoing training to facility employees to understand, follow and participate where appropriate in maintenance processes.

To excel in this role, you will:
- Be practical and proactive, with the ability to solve problems effectively as challenges arise.
- Hold a current, full New Zealand driver's licence.
- Ideally, you will have experience in facility management and/or knowledge of building or trades.
- Have the relevant Health & Safety qualification (Site Safe Gold Card or similar)

Additional Information | Ko ētahi atu kōrero:
- Hours of work: Initially and prior to Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre opening, you will work Monday to Friday. After the opening, your scheduled days of work will change to include one weekend day (Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday).
- Position: Full-time, permanent.
- Salary: The salary range for this position is $81,227 - $90,252 per annum, based on a 40-hour work week.
- Location: This role will be based at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, 50 St Asaph Street. During the establishment phase, you may be required to work from other Council facilities across our network or from Te Hononga Civic Offices until the centre opens. Some flexibility with your work schedule may be required during this pre-opening period.
