Our clients mission is innovation, quality, and sustainability – and we’re looking for a QA Chemist to help drive that forward. This role is critical to ensuring high safety and quality standards are met, supporting production needs, and delivering outstanding service to customers.

Based in Hornby, you’ll be the linchpin between the lab, production, and customer service – performing testing, resolving quality issues, and ensuring compliance across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance
  • Validate that all dispatched products meet customer specifications
  • Lead root cause analysis and non-conformance investigations
  • Communicate product availability and issues with operations teams
  • Support internal and supplier audit programs including ISO accreditation
  • Ensure timely reporting of quality near misses and documentation updates
Laboratory
  • Test resins, intermediates, and formaldehyde products
  • Manage lab reagents, calibrations, and QC equipment servicing
  • Drive consistency and reduce variability in lab testing
  • Maintain GLP and 5S compliance across QC operations
  • Oversee laboratory purchasing and maintain safe, clean workspaces
Health, Safety and Environment
  • Uphold safety across all lab activities
  • Support implementation of hygiene and safety programs
  • Monitor exposure levels and report incidents promptly
Improvement and Systems
  • Conduct internal QMS audits
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and quality planning
  • Assist with ISO documentation, certification, and management reviews
Cross-Functional Support
  • Train operators in QC requirements and processes
  • Work with the technical/commercial team to deliver customer outcomes
  • Ensure clear communication with internal teams and customers
  • Provide accurate recordkeeping via SAP and internal systems
Essential Skills Required:
  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific field
  • Solid QA/QC lab experience, ideally with leadership responsibilities
  • Familiarity with lab testing, chemical safety, and SOPs
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
