Assistant Catering Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Catering Manager to support our catering operations. The ideal candidate will assist in planning and executing events, manage staff coordination, and ensure top quality food and service standards are consistently met. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

• Assist the Catering Manager in planning, organizing, and executing catering events and functions.

• Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget.

• Help develop customized menus and proposals in collaboration with chefs and clients.

• Supervise catering staff during event setup, service, and cleanup to ensure smooth operations.

• Ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards meet client expectations and company policies.

• Manage inventory of catering supplies and place orders as needed.

• Assist in budgeting and cost control to ensure events are delivered within financial targets.

• Conduct site inspections and pre-event planning to ensure venue readiness and logistics.

• Handle last-minute client requests, changes, or issues with professionalism and efficiency.

• Maintain accurate records of catering events, invoices, and customer feedback.

• Support recruitment, training, and scheduling of catering team members.

• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations at all events.

• Liaise with vendors, event planners, and internal departments for seamless coordination.

• Provide on-site supervision and act as the point of contact during events.

• Assist in promoting catering services and building relationships with repeat clients.

Requirements

• Work experience in any position for 2 years or Nzqa Level 4qualification.
• Any relevant qualification in hospitality will be an advantage.
• Must be available to work on weekends, public holidays, and split shifts.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment tocontribute to the team’s success.
