We are looking for a senior investigative journalist with a track record of producing high-impact stories to join New Zealand’s most influential content platform. What You’ll Do
Deliver original, exclusive stories that get Kiwis talking.
Write, edit, and publish engaging news across digital, social, video, and audio platforms.
Follow stories relentlessly and uncover fresh angles before anyone else.
Use the full suite of digital storytelling tools, from video and infographics to user-generated content and immersive multimedia.
Leverage AI tools and platforms to enhance research, verify information, uncover patterns in large datasets, and support content ideation and workflow efficiency.
Ensure your journalism connects with mobile-first consumers and contributes to audience growth.
Your network should be bursting with valuable sources.
Uphold the highest standards of accuracy, integrity, and ethics.
Contribute to a culture of agility and responsiveness to breaking news.
Help develop junior journalists and contribute to a positive, supportive newsroom environment.
What You’ll Bring
A journalism qualification or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
A relentless passion for uncovering and telling stories in new and compelling ways.
A strong understanding of digital storytelling, social media engagement, and audience analytics.
Experience or a willingness to learnAI-powered research tools, transcription services, image and audio analysis, and content production platforms.
A proven ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and handle breaking news with composure.
Exceptional writing and self-editing skills, with solid knowledge of media law and ethical reporting standards.
A team-first mentality, supporting newsroom goals and fostering collaboration.
Experience leading complex journalism projects and mentoring junior reporters.
A commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and innovative workplace.
