Job Title: Assistant Manager


Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • To ensure the highest level of food and customer service are provided and strive to continually exceed customer’s expectations.
  • To make marketing decision and devise promotion methods
  • To manage suppliers and products, and control the stock levels
  • To consult with the chefs on menu planning and purchasing policy
  • To plan budget and manage the profit and loss
  • To supervise chef and staff and assess staff competency
  • To carry out on recruitment and staff training
  • To communicate with customers, and respond to requests and feedbacks
  • To ensure compliance with governmental and occupational health and safety Acts and regulations.
  • To implement and reinforce restaurant standards, policies and procedures
  • To handle complaints effectively and deal with difficult customers
  • To carry out other duties as directed by Manager and Director

Pay rate: Minimum $24.00/ hour Maximum $28.00/ hour


Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 40 hours, permanent full-time


Requirements for the job:

  • At least 6 months of relevant work experience
  • Qualification in management would be an advantage
  • Strong understanding of business management
  • Excellent problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full time availability
  • Able to work on public holidays and weekends
  • No criminal record
  • Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
