The Role

As a Full Stack Web Developer at Seequent, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's digital presence and designing, developing, and maintaining web applications throughout our web ecosystem. Your expertise will span both front-end and back-end technologies, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience. Collaboration is at the core of this role as you work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and marketing, to ensure alignment and consistency. Additionally, you will be at the forefront of Seequent's digital transformation, fostering a future-first mindset, and collaborating with a cross functional team to enhance buy-flow processes, support journeys, information architecture, and web navigation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with various teams across the organization
  • Collaborate with teams to lead and create overall web architecture.
  • Maintain security standards across our websites
  • Maintain performance standards across our websites
  • Implement new features and websites to support business growth

Technical Proficiency Required:

  • Deep understanding of WordPress core, themes, and plugins. Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager is a plus
  • Expertise in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Staying updated with the latest WordPress updates and coding standards
  • Ability to create custom functionalities, optimize performance, and ensure security
  • Familiarity with PHP and MySQL for custom functionality and database management
  • Understand tools like GIT to manage code effectively

Design and User Experience:

  • Craft visually appealing interfaces implementing UI and interaction designs
  • Knowledge of design principles and responsive design to create beautiful experiences across devices
  • Experience building accessible websites and familiar with accessibility standards to create inclusive user experiences
  • Collaborate closely with others, in particular our digital team to create, optimize, and maintain our web experiences
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to break down technical jargon into simple terms
  • Effectively estimate development effort and plan work

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 7+ years of experience in a web developer role
  • Relevant education or experience in a web and/or development role
  • Shown leadership in coding standards, collaboration, and co-ordination of third-party partners
  • A strong understanding of development processes for digital environments including Agile, information architecture, UX/UI, project management, testing frameworks
  • Demonstrable skills in developing a technical strategy
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to think, plan and act strategically
  • Ability to work well with other team members and to provide support, coaching and training
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback from diverse sources and to grow personally and professionally from it
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and build sustainable working relationships
  • A balanced and informed approach to problem-solving
  • A desire to learn and improve and to gain new skills and knowledge.
  • Goal-orientated and deadline-driven

Additional Information

Office-based working environment, work from our Christchurch, New Zealand office three or more days per week.
