About The Role

Join our nursing team at Mercy Hospital working in our three-bed intensive care unit!

We welcome applications from Registered Nurses with previous experience working within ICU and/or including post cardiac surgery care.

Specific duties include

• Providing optimum patient care in accordance with Mercy Hospital Shared Purpose and Values.
• Practice in accordance with the Domains of Competence for the Registered/Enrolled Nurse.
• Work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively.
• Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practicing certificate.
  
  
  

This is a permanent, part-time (0.3FTE, 24 hours per fortnight) position, rostered Friday to Sunday every 1st and 3rd weekend of the month- over 8 and 12hrs shifts.

Skills and Experiences:

Skills And Experience

• Minimum of 4 years surgical /medical consecutive nursing experience.
• Current or recent previous experience working within an ICU and caring for cardiac surgery patients in the first 24-48Hr period post-surgery.
• Hold registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, as a Nurse and current practicing certificate.
• High attention and detail pertaining to patient focused care, process, policy communication and documentation
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• A high degree of self-motivation, willingness, and self-responsibility to continually improve and remain current with nursing skills and knowledge.
• High levels of professionalism with an enthusiastic, proactive, flexible approach.
