He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Are you interested in having a key role in shaping the future of Auckland's water infrastructure? Due to parental leave cover, we are looking for a Senior Standards and Products Engineer for this 9 month fixed term to work in Watercare's Strategy and Planning team!

Engineering standards and approved product processes are required for the efficient and sustainable creation and renewal of assets. In this role you will be helping to leave a legacy for the future residents of Tāmaki Makaurau!

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing technical advice and guidance to internal and external partners.
  • Implementing Watercare's Asset Lifecycle Framework through coordination of engineering standards and approved product governance.
  • Leading a whole-of-life and evidence-based approach to evaluating and monitoring approved product and material performance.

You will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders across the business including operations teams, design and technical experts, supply chain and development communities.

Skills

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven background in 3-waters infrastructure, be a strategic thinker, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a focus on detail. Your background will include:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent professional qualification (mechanical / process / civil engineering or similar discipline).
  • Strong experience in infrastructure design, design management or construction.
  • Working experience of Standards Compliance, Quality Assurance and Training Competency Frameworks.
  • You have worked alongside a range of disciplines such as operations, commissioning and electrical
  • Project management experience.
