Alstom is seeking an experienced Project Contract Manager to join our team in Wellington, New Zealand, reporting directly to the Project Contract Manager Lead. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the local project team, taking the lead in developing, implementing, and driving proactive contract management and risk mitigation strategies that align with Alstom’s business goals. This role involves overseeing extensions of time (EOTs), variation orders, and contract amendments, while ensuring meticulous record-keeping and thorough file preparation to support the project’s success.

Alstom is seeking an experienced Project Contract Manager to join our team in Wellington, New Zealand, reporting directly to the Project Contract Manager Lead. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the local project team, taking the lead in developing, implementing, and driving proactive contract management and risk mitigation strategies that align with Alstom’s business goals. This role involves overseeing extensions of time (EOTs), variation orders, and contract amendments, while ensuring meticulous record-keeping and thorough file preparation to support the project’s success.
We’ll Look to You For:
- Applying Alstom’s contract, claims, and insurance management manual alongside company governance standards.
- Partnering with the core project team to craft and roll out the Contract Management Strategy Plan.
- Analysing the contract to shape and implement the contract and claims management strategy, regularly updating it with the team as the project progresses.
- Keeping a close eye on work to ensure it meets contract obligations, tracking the project schedule to hit key milestones.
- Issuing contractual notices to customers and partners promptly and effectively.
- Setting up and roll out project-specific commercial procedures, covering correspondence, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders, and claims preparation.
- Monitoring and manage all correspondence by reviewing incoming and outgoing communications with customers and partners.
- Developing and refine project-specific processes and methods for managing contracts and claims.
- A tertiary degree in Law, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
- Extensive experience in contract and claims management, particularly in delivering railway, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- The ability to read and interpret contractual documents, including terms, conditions, planning, and technical specifications.
- A solid grasp of project financials and how contract/claim management impacts profitability.
- Skills to anticipate and juggle conflicting priorities with ease.
- Strong familiarity with Contract Management and Project Management tools and systems.
- A proven ability to be operationally effective and take full accountability.
