What You'll Do
As Senior Manager Risk Oversight, you will immerse yourself in the dynamic world of technology transformation within financial services. Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Provide proactive oversight and constructive review of risk management frameworks and policies related to technology modernisation initiatives.
- Monitor risk exposure by tracking key milestones in transformation projects, identifying material trends or emerging themes that require attention.
- Offer subject matter expertise through thoughtful challenge and advice to senior stakeholders and governance committees on significant risks, issues, and control design.
- Increase organisational capability by sharing knowledge on specialist risk areas such as technology, cyber security, models, artificial intelligence, business resilience, and crisis management.
- Enhance the maturity of controls by coaching teams and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the business.
- Collaborate closely with peers across Centres of Excellence, assurance functions, other specialist areas, and business units to provide mutual support and share best practices.
- Contribute actively at both divisional and enterprise levels by participating in key forums and governance committees including board-level discussions.
- Support the delivery of the overall risk strategy by leading or contributing to initiatives that strengthen the organisation’s approach to specialist risks.
- Keep abreast of industry best practice in risk oversight and ensure these insights inform internal processes and decision-making.
- Champion a positive risk culture by fostering open communication, trust-based relationships, and shared accountability throughout the organisation.
- Strong understanding of risk management fundamentals.
- Experience in large scale, complex, data driven organisations.
- Financial services experience is beneficial.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships.
- Tertiary qualifications in business or related discipline.
- Strong understanding and application of Agile practices.
