We are seeking a Building Services Engineer with a strong background in HVAC systems. Reporting to the Building Services Lead, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic project environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality mechanical services on complex building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical advice to the Technical and Project teams on all HVAC (including BMS) and Building Services-related matters.
- Lead and manage the mechanical services design process for BMS, and ensuring construction delivery of the HVAC systems are integrated effectively with other disciplines.
- Prepare detailed scopes of work for HVAC and other service disciplines.
- Coordinate and manage communication of project information, instructions, and design changes to HVAC and services subcontractors.
- Oversee the Technical Submissions and RFI process, ensuring timely and accurate responses to support off-site workflows.
- Monitor and manage HVAC subcontractor performance with respect to cost, quality, and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of testing and commissioning documentation, including commissioning plans, O&M manuals, and compliance with local authority requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Building Services Engineer role in New Zealand, with a focus on HVAC systems.
- Experience working with a Main Contractor, Subcontractor, or within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Project is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and colleagues.
