We leverage technology to deliver these services through our website, mobile app and by phone. Last year, we helped over 300 million people access information about the currencies that matter to them and over 225,000 people used us to send money overseas.
About This Role
Xe is seeking an Intermediate Test Engineer to join our team on a fixed term contract to provide maternity leave cover.
This role offers an exciting opportunity with a focus on test automation, primarily for APIs, with some involvement in front-end automation. However, automation is just one aspect—your work will also include manual testing, defect management, and documentation to support product quality.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive testing across APIs, web applications, Windows clients, and mobile platforms
- Develop and maintain automated tests for C# and JavaScript applications
- Establish and maintain strong relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication at all levels
- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while maintaining best practices
- Apply best practices and processes in quality assurance within your team and across our global teams
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Recent experience scripting in a programming language (e.g. JavaScript, C#)
- Experience with automated testing frameworks
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly
- API testing expertise, with hands-on experience using API testing tools (e.g. Postman)
- Proficiency in source control systems (e.g. Git) and experience working with build pipelines
- Strong systems analysis and troubleshooting skills
- A collaborative mindset for diagnosing and resolving testing challenges
- Experience working in an Agile environment, with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Thorough understanding of functional and non-functional testing principles
- Competence in SQL query writing and understanding relational databases
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Exposure to performance testing
- Hands-on experience in a .NET development environment
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Background in the Finance domain, particularly in Foreign Exchange
