Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team and assist our General Counsel in providing legal support to the business.

The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing timely, commercial, high quality legal advice and to act as a trusted business partner. This role will be primarily focused on supporting the Property and Development team which will include being across construction contracts, leasing, supporting procurement with supplier contracts and other property related matters. It will also support the broader legal team.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • LLB Degree and admitted as a Barrister or Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand
  • Current practicing certificate
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in law firms and/or in- house
  • Worked at senior level within a law firm or large-scale organisation
  • Experience in property development, projects, corporate and/or commercial
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain and simplify complexity
  • Healthcare industry experience could be desirable
