te tūranga | About the Role

Te Atawahi Service is based in Spreydon and is looking for a new Support Worker!

In this role, you will be supporting four women (Bella, Gemma, Samantha, and Holly) in their 20s and 30s, each with unique interests.

  • Bella has a passion for creativity and creates her own jewelry which she sells. Bella also has her own part time job at Hōhepa as the courier, where she and her support worker deliver important goods and information to the houses each week.
  • Gemma is highly social and loves attending the LEAP Day base where she connects with her other friends. Gemma enjoys listening to music, dancing, watching videos, and socialising.
  • Samantha has a passion for animals and especially enjoys going horse riding every week and staying active. She also attends the LEAP Day service and enjoys being creative with arts and crafts.
  • Holly has a busy schedule and likes to get out and about in the community. She works part-time at a preschool, attends the LEAP Day service, and spends time with her boyfriend and friends.

All the ladies in the house enjoy socialising with their friends and families as well engaging within Hōhepa with the latest community events.

You will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space. 

Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people’s ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you. 

This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.50 and $28.25 per hour.

Nga haora kua tohua | Rostered hours:

  • Thursday 4pm to 10:30pm, 10:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
  • Friday 7am to 9am, 4pm to 10:30pm, 10:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)
  • Saturday 7am to 4pm

Hands on hours: 48 | Sleepover hours: 34

Total Hours per fortnight: 82

Role
