The role/Te mahi
We are seeking an outstanding and highly organised administrator to provide administrative services to Te Whai Ao - The Dodd-Walls Centre (DWC) for Photonic and Quantum technologies. The DWC is a Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE), hosted by the University of Otago within the Division of Sciences.
Key tasks include:- Providing administration support to academic and professional staff.
- Responding to enquiries.
- Transactional finance activities – purchasing, invoicing, PCard management etc.
- Coordinating local administration processes such as recruitment, induction, and other administration support.
- Communication (including newsletters).
- Planning and logistics for travel.
- Meeting support.
The administrator function includes Kaiwhakahaere Tari positions, which supports the implementation of our Māori Strategic Framework and the University’s commitment to the success of Māori students and staff. Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
We are looking for candidates with:- Previous experience in a busy administration environment.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
- A sense of humour and inquisitive mindset.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to work as part of a team and individually.
- The ability to be adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Further details/Pūroko
This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) position, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
Administrator appointments range for this role is $61,360 to $65,879. Top of the range is $71,150.
