Sealing Supervisor

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Sealing Supervisor to join our dedicated team based in Invercargill. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a leadership role and is passionate about delivering high quality results across sealing projects in the Otago/Southland region.

As the Sealing Supervisor, you'll be hands on leading our crew and coordinating operations to ensure work is delivered safely on time, and to specification. You'll work closely with the wider Surfacing team to plan, resource, and execute projects with a strong team culture and a focus on top performance and Zero Harm.

This is a key leadership role where you'll help shape team capability, develop strong relationships with clients, and contribute to the successful delivery of both routine maintenance and capital sealing programmes.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily operations of sealing crews
• Support the planning, budgeting, and tendering of sealing projects
• Set and monitor productivity, quality, and safety targets
• Liaise with subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders
• Lead on-site training and development to build team capability
• Ensure Zero Harm and environmental standards are met and maintained

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

• Proven experience supervising crews in civil construction or road maintenance
• Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and mentor team members
• A working knowledge of sealing operations and chipseal techniques
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive approach to risk management, safety, and continuous improvement
• Level 5 Chipseal Design qualification (or currently working towards it) preferred
