National Training Manager

The Opportunity;
We are recruiting for a National Training Manager to join Ritchies, based in Auckland reporting to our Director of People, Safety and Culture.
This role is pivotal in developing the training of Ritchies drivers and workforce to enhance our position as a market leader in induction and training, as well as managing the ongoing competency of existing employees.
This is an important opportunity for an individual that values being a change maker and taking responsibility for the development and planning of quality national training programs. This role is paramount for operational excellence through providing support and structure for staff to meet licensing requirements, achieve NZQA qualifications, meet contractual performance standards and consistently attain NZ legislative needs.
You will lead a network of driver trainer/assessors throughout our depots across New Zealand- we have depots from Kaitaia to Gore!

Ritchies is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading passenger transport companies with a team of more than 2,000 people providing coach and charter services right across the country. We partner with regional councils and schools to supply public transport services as well as offering a range of bus and coach hire services to businesses and the general public. You would be joining us at an exciting time in Ritchies’ history as we gear up to decarbonise our fleet and move to a more sustainable public transport model.
About You;
You’re a leader that has experience developing documentation and delivery programs across multiple sites and rolling these out successfully. You have great communication skills, and you’re apt at understanding that people have different learning capabilities and can create a program that encompasses these differences.
You pride yourself on your eye for detail and your time management skills.
You’re a great team player and can communicate with a variety of people and groups in a manner that is concise and easy to understand. You take health and safety seriously and are an advocate for it’s importance.
Your Skills;
- Proven experience developing training programs and documents
- Self-starter
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ideally a tertiary qualification in business or similar
- Strong communicator
- Great business acumen
- Interest in public transport
- Health and safety savvy
