ABOUT THE ROLE
The Jade Software Operations Team has a new opportunity available at our Christchurch HQ for an entry level Systems Administrator. This is an exciting full-time role with the key purpose of providing first line support and monitoring for our global customers using our 24 x 7 systems management service. You will be providing support to customers including banks, ports, registries and other critical business systems. In this varied role, your problem diagnosis and resolutions skills will be fully utilised.
This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral member of our operations team. As the successful applicant you will be provided with on-the-job training and be well supported with regular performance and development reviews.
Key responsibilities:
Issue Resolution
- Monitoring our operator consoles and respond to system requests and messages within agreed timeframes Manage and follow-up requests reported to the service desk to resolve any issues
System Management
- Ensure hardware/software applications and network components are operational, responding to any issues as they arise
- You will control user log-on and registration requirements Handling planned tasks whilst following detailed processes and documenting progress
Continuous Improvement
- You will contribute to the development of our operational procedures to ensure they are always up to date
ABOUT YOU
What will make you stand out as our next Systems Administrator:
- A relevant IT qualification at Level 5 or above (e.g., Diploma in Information Technology)
- Experience in a customer-facing role — whether in IT support, hospitality, or retail — showing your ability to communicate and problem-solve under pressure
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication and comprehension skills
- A genuine passion for customer service, with the ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Proven ability to manage your workload effectively, both independently and as part of a team
- Great time management skills and a proactive approach to your work Previous IT service desk experience is a plus
The successful candidate must also be available to work rostered rotating shifts to support our 24 x 7 customer service requirements.
