Ko tō tūranga – your role
As the OSS Data Engineer your role is to act as a key driver in the design, delivery, and 24/7 operation of internal Operational Support Systems (OSS), where you'll lead automation and data analytics initiatives that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. You'll champion a data-as-an-asset mindset, enabling predictive capabilities through ML/AI, and collaborate across Networks and Big Data teams to deliver full-stack agile data solutions—from pipeline management to impactful visualisation.

Ko tō tūranga – your role
As the OSS Data Engineer your role is to act as a key driver in the design, delivery, and 24/7 operation of internal Operational Support Systems (OSS), where you'll lead automation and data analytics initiatives that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. You'll champion a data-as-an-asset mindset, enabling predictive capabilities through ML/AI, and collaborate across Networks and Big Data teams to deliver full-stack agile data solutions—from pipeline management to impactful visualisation.
Ko Tō Mahi – What You’ll Do
- Deliver accurate, cost-effective designs aligned to architectural, design and operational requirements considering all E2E impacts.
- Own capacity and lifecycle management for relevant platforms
- Development of domain roadmaps, input into architecture, network plans and capital budgets
- On time and budget delivery & implementation ensuring network integrity is maintained
- Implementation of Network change as per agreed processes
- Ensure all changes have passed the full set of acceptance tests and quality standards before live implementation
- Ensure Incident resolution achieved within operational SLA targets.
- Participate in 24x7 rosters if required.
- Develop and implement processes, procedures, and automation to improve operational performance.
- Ensure network integrity is maintained through an effective maintenance program.
- Expertise in automation tools & data analytics.
- Proficient in python / bash, SQL, Snowflake, DBT.
- Demonstrated experience with automation tools, scripting & development.
- Ability to proactively identify product / solution opportunities mapping stakeholder requirements & market opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide a lead role in a high performing team, make decisions under pressure, support others.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including managing suppliers and partners.
- Ensure effective knowledge sharing and Agile practices are in place and successful.
- Ability to act as a coach and mentor to domain Platform engineers.
- Ability to drive transformational change with an Agile mind-set.
- Understand ITIL methodologies.
