Location: Porirua, Wellington
Job Type: Full-time, minimum 30 hours
Duration: Permanent
Approximate Pay: $23.80- $25 per hour (depending on experience)

About the role

Cobb & Co Porirua is looking for a reliable and hard-working Kitchenhand to join our team. In this hands-on role, you’ll play an essential part in supporting our kitchen staff and keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashers or by hand.
• Clean benches, floors, sinks, and kitchen appliances regularly.
• Dispose of rubbish and food waste properly, and keep waste and recycling areas clean and tidy.
• Assist with basic food prep (e.g. chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, cleaning and keeping the kitchen clean) under chef supervision.
• Unpack food deliveries, check items, and store stock correctly -To do that, you need to be able to read the names of the items properly and enter all the items correctly in our cobb app electronically.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

• A Diploma/Bachelor's or at least 2 years of previous kitchen or cleaning experience.

Able to handle the dessert and dishes sections together, and at the end of the shift, do the cleaning of the kitchen.

• Must be legally allowed to work in New Zealand
• Willingness to undergo random drug testing if required
• A criminal history check may be conducted if necessary
