Business Development Representative (APAC)
Delib

We’re looking for a friendly, approachable, curious person to join our expanding Asia-Pacific operation as a Business Development Representative, responsible for generating new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling and email campaigns. If you’re outgoing, great with people, and just the right amount of stubborn, we probably want to hear from you.
What is Delib?
Delib’s mission is to:
1: Make democratic processes easier to run for governments, and;
2. Improve access to democracy for citizens.
We think it makes sense for people to be involved in decisions made by democratic leadership, especially on matters affecting their lives. We want these decisions to be open, transparent and collaborative.
We do this by making engagement software for public sector organisations.
Democratic engagement can be difficult to access and can put a burden of work on citizens, discouraging them from participating. Via our platforms, we want to make it easier for people to take part, and for public sector organisations to achieve their goals: providing clear information, getting better response data, leading to better, more informed, and actionable decisions. Our software has been used for some of the most high-profile public consultations and engagement exercises in the past 20 years, by organisations ranging from federal and central government departments, through to smaller regulators and local authorities. We care about the things we do and the people we do it for, and - while we don’t take ourselves too seriously - we are very serious about the work.
What's the job?
Your role will be to establish and nurture relationships with potential customers, building our networks and our profile among people and organisations in our market. You will encourage engagement professionals in our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) to use Delib’s SaaS solution in their next project and on an ongoing basis. You will be expected to use a recognised and highly effective methodology and process to create a sufficient opportunity pipeline each month for their colleagues in the Sales team to further progress and close.
Outbound prospecting and lead generation activities, including calling and email campaigns, operating a sequence / cadence to identify potential customers who have a need for Delib products.
Qualify leads by assessing their interest, budget, timeline, and decision-making process using Delib’s qualification method.
Manage the lead process to create fully qualified opportunities for all our Account Executives to present Delib’s software to potential customers.
Nurture a database of prospects who are not yet ready to buy.
Collaborate with others in the team, especially Demand Generation and Marketing colleagues, to ensure a steady flow of well-qualified opportunities for the Account Executives
Build and maintain relationships with potential customers, understanding their needs and pain points, the impact working with Delib will have on their organisation, and positioning Delib as an essential asset to their engagement needs.
Who are you?
This is an ideal role for someone looking to take the next step in their sales career in the technology industry. You’re curious, good with people and interested in the work we do and the wider tech-for-good area.
As an experienced SaaS BDR in an outbound environment, you will be able to put into practice one or more recognised SaaS outbound methodologies such as elements of Challenger, MEDDIC, MEDPICC or preferably Winning by Design. You will have expert level experience of Hubspot or Salesforce and one or more SDR platforms such as Salesloft, Apollo or Outreach.
Hiring for this role is based on skill and interest, not education, and we’d like to hear from you if you meet some of the following criteria:
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a BDR or similar role in the software or technology industry, ideally in a SaaS company.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas/targets
- Must be flexible to work across timezones. We may sometimes need to call into new markets in different time zones and will need you to run those campaigns when/if they happen.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a confident and professional telephone / video call manner compatible with a professional market.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must appreciate the use of data to improve sales performance and be willing to take responsibility for own performance using dashboards, data and feedback.
Location
Fully remote position anywhere in New Zealand.
You do need to be able to travel from time to time for work. We like seeing each other when we can and when it fits with our varied schedules.
Delib will provide all the tools necessary to set up the right candidate on successful hire, including (but not limited to) a Delib-provided laptop for completing work, and an allowance for setting up a suitable workspace at home if applicable.
Salary and Role
This is a permanent role, advertised on a full-time basis with some flexibility for the right candidate.
We're offering $75,000-85,000 + OTE for targets met. There is also room to grow the salary by taking on responsibility and gaining experience as we regularly review salaries in line with how people are doing.
