Contract type: Part time
Mott MacDonald NZ is a dynamic and innovative engineering, management and development consultancy working with high profile clients across New Zealand. We are a wholly independent, employee-owned company with strong local leadership and autonomy.

We have a supportive and collaborative culture which values equality and diversity, and we take proactive steps to create an inclusive workplace.

We are a growing team of 300+ employees, located in Wynyard Quarter, Central Auckland and have an exciting opening for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll Officer. You would be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the end-to-end payroll function to ensure a successful monthly payroll is completed.

The Role

You will play a crucial role across payroll system updates, backend maintenance, process improvement and policy implementation and your input will be required with the senior leadership team to provide assurance on payroll compliance with NZ Legislation.

Due to our current business requirements this role is Permanent Part time (0.6 FTE), and a great option for a candidate who is looking for flexibility in a role

What You Will Do

  • Collating all required payroll information in line with deadlines.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in the payroll system.
  • Stay updated on NZ payroll laws and regulations.
  • Investigating, answering, and resolving payroll related queries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams for process improvements.
  • Lead in-depth review of payroll reports with Senior Management.

We would like to see you bring established experience as a payroll officer, with experience in managing a payroll of over 300 employees. In depth knowledge of NZ employment legislation and experience with various payroll systems will be needed in this role. Experience with Datapay would be an added bonus to bring to the role, but is not essential. Your Excel skills and ability to analyse and solve problems will put you in the position as a trusted advisor to the business. You will use your great interpersonal skills to help solve those problems and work with a range of stakeholders, and become a key member of our Finance and wider business services team.
