Our Auckland Transport Division has an opportunity for an experienced transport leader who thrives on challenges and accountability. We are seeking a capable Transport Supervisor - Night Shift to lead and coordinate our General Cartage and Heavy Haulage supply chain operations during the night shift hours.

This is a pivotal leadership role within our large and complex transport division, responsible for managing a team of up to 30 drivers and support staff. You’ll play a key role in optimising fleet utilisation, maintaining compliance and safety standards, and ensuring seamless service delivery.

Hours: Available to work between Sunday to Thursday, from hours of 6pm and 6am. This may also include working other schedules and weekends when required therefore a high level of flexibility is needed to be successful in this role. The role is based at Mount Wellington.

In addition to the above you will: 

• Leading a dedicated night shift team across multiple transport streams
• Overseeing nightly schedules, routing and resource allocation
• Ensuring safety, compliance with all NZTA and local body legislative requirements
• Working closely with planning, maintenance and day shift operations for smooth handovers
• Driving continuous improvement in performance, efficiency and service levels
• Monitor driver behaviour, oversight on improvements and road safety

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven leadership experience in a large transport/logistics environment
• Strong knowledge of general and heavy haulage operations
• Demonstrated success in managing teams of up to 30 people
• High level problem solving and decision-making skills
• Sound understanding of fleet systems, health and safety and regulatory compliance
• Hold a Class 4 NZ drivers’ licence is required, Class 5 is advantageous
• Hold a WTR and DG endorsement is preferred
• Competent using Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel
