We are currently seeking reliable and full-time Excavator Drivers to join our team. Starting pay offered from $29.66 - $35.00 hourly will be fixed according to the skills and experience for 30-50 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per above payrate. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including:

Excavation and Earthmoving:
Operate excavators to dig trenches and pits for sewerage and stormwater pipes. Carefully
remove and relocate earth, rock, and rubble to create pathways for drainage systems.

Machine Setup and Operation:
Prepare and set up the excavator, attaching and removing tools like buckets and hammers as
needed. Use the controls to perform tasks such as digging, leveling, and compacting materials.

Safety and Monitoring:
Keep a close eye on the machine's performance, adjusting controls to maintain safe and efficient operation. Ensure the safety of the work area, watching out for other workers and obstacles.

Maintenance and Repairs:
Regularly service, clean, and refuel the excavator to keep it in good working condition. Perform minor repairs and adjustments when necessary to avoid delays.

Site Preparation and Cleanup:
Help prepare the worksite by clearing debris and ensuring the ground is ready for excavation. After completing tasks, clean up the site to leave it safe and tidy.

Drainage-Specific Tasks:
Excavate precise trenches for laying sewerage and stormwater pipes. Assist in the installation of drainage structures, such as manholes, culverts, and catch basins. Backfill and compact soil around newly installed pipes to ensure stability and proper drainage. Identify and remove old or damaged pipes, preparing the site for new installations.


To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum three years’ experience operating excavators or other earthmoving machinery in drainage or construction projects.
  • Proven ability to dig and backfill trenches for sewerage or stormwater systems with accuracy.
  • Familiarity with machine setup, attachments, and routine maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of worksite safety, including machinery operation near other workers and utilities.
  • Ability to read basic site plans and follow layout instructions for pipe installation.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor environments under varying conditions.
  • Must be available to work early mornings and weekends (based on work arrangement).
  • Pre-employed drug test and police check is required.
