We’re looking for a bright and ambitious Digital Strategist to join our Napier-based team at NZME. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, future-focused media business, where you'll support digital campaign strategy, upskill sales teams, and grow your knowledge of digital platforms from the ground up.

We’re looking for a bright and ambitious Digital Strategist to join our Napier-based team at NZME. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, future-focused media business, where you'll support digital campaign strategy, upskill sales teams, and grow your knowledge of digital platforms from the ground up.
How You’ll Do It
You’ll work alongside our Commercial – Direct team to bring digital campaigns to life, learning by doing, while making real contributions from day one. Your role will include:
- Supporting the sales team with campaign planning, digital insights and product knowledge.
- Learning to build and present digital solutions that include NZME’s owned channels and performance platforms like Google Ads, Meta and programmatic.
- Helping develop tools, templates and resources that make it easier for the sales team to talk digital.
- Participating in client meetings, contributing fresh thinking and a data-led mindset.
- Staying up-to-date on digital trends and sharing new ideas with the team.
- Analysing results and reporting on campaign performance to inform smarter future strategies.
About You
You’re a digital dynamo or at the start of your career, but you’re already curious, driven and digitally minded. You bring:
- A tertiary qualification in media, marketing, communications, or similar.
- A genuine interest in digital media and advertising.
- A proactive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
- A knack for research, analysis and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead conversations with clients, agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Bonus points if you've explored platforms like Google Ads or Meta, whether through study, internships or self-learning.
