Nurse Coordinator - The Doctors Birkenhead

We have an exciting opportunity for a vibrant, positive, and energetic Nurse Coordinator to join our amazing, dedicated team. You may be a Registered Nurse working in Primary Care who is ready to step into a leadership role.

  • Permanent Full Time Role - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Working closely with the Nurse Lead, the Nurse Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a culture of excellence in delivering outstanding patient care. You will inspire and motivate the team to uphold our excellent standards.

Main Purpose of the Nurse Coordinator Role:

  • Provides clinical and professional support to the Nurse Lead to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Works collaboratively with the Nurse Lead to ensure coordination of staff allocation on all shifts.
  • Takes accountability for resources and equipment used by the team
  • Supervises and preceptors other nurses
  • On the spot monitoring of clinical care and proactive problem solving
  • Day to day coordination of the nursing team and patient flow. The role is primarily working clinically alongside the nursing team, as well as providing cover for leave/breaks. The non-clinical portion will be working alongside the Nurse Lead on items including Accreditation preparation, service improvement and implementing change.
  • Support the Nurse Lead in implementing new models of care, improving healthcare access, patient experience, health outcomes that meet the health and wellness aspirations of the practice population, and aligns with the five MOH NZ strategic themes.
  • 2IC in the Nurse Lead's absence.

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Previous experience in Primary Care - sound clinical knowledge, comprehensive assessment and care planning skills, experience in coaching, and teaching
  • An interest in quality improvement systems and processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a sound work ethic
  • Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
