Morphum Environmental seeks a talented Intermediate Ecologist to join our dynamic Tāmaki Makaurau team! ‍ ‍

What is the role?

While we are looking for an Intermediate Ecologist to join our Tāmaki Makaurau team, Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington candidates will also be considered. The role is for a well-rounded freshwater ecologist with fundamental knowledge in freshwater ecology and/or wetland ecology, resource management legislation, policy and practice.

About you

  • You have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science (or equivalent); and preferably a Master of Science (or equivalent) in Environmental Science and/or Freshwater Ecology with 4+ years of practical experience.
  • You have prepared and/or reviewed ecological impact assessments.
  • You have a demonstrated knowledge in wetland assessment and delineation, and associated reporting.
  • You hold strong environmental values and have a genuine passion for sustainability.
  • You are committed to respecting and actively upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are willing to continuously develop an appreciation of mātauranga Māori in relation to your role.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, interpersonal environment.
  • You have excellent written skills and are confident in presenting to and collaborating with technical and non-technical audiences. ‍ ‍
