CARTERS Cambridge Manufacturing has an opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to lead the Frame & Truss production teams across two shifts.
We are seeking an experienced people leader with sound manufacturing knowledge and understanding of the processes within a frame and truss manufacturing environment.
About the job
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will lead production team leaders and manufacturing operators, ensuring production targets are met; safety and quality is adhered to; while training and developing your team.
Key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Staff the factory to the required level to deliver products to customer expectations and requirements
- Recruit quality people best suited to their roles
- Manage all employees, temps and contractors to deliver performance expectations
- Work cooperatively with the manufacturing leadership team to deliver quality product and service
- Ensure appropriate training and development of staff
- Ensure systems are in place to minimise waste
- Ensure customer delivery dates are met
- Ensure a culture of continuous improvement
About you
You will be highly motivated and have a passion for developing a high performance culture to meet business objectives while possessing the following skills and experience:
- Prior leadership and management experience in a multi shift environment
- Strong technical and tactical experience and comprehensive understanding of the roles and processes within the building/frame and truss manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with regard to technical queries and the ability to confidently provide solutions or remedial actions for customers
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Negotiation skills
- Confidence in computer controlled operating environment
