We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join our team.
Ideal Progress Ltd (T/A DH Kitchen) is located in Mt. Wellington, Auckland. For nearly a decade, DHK has been designing and crafting kitchens and home interiors with excellence. All our design and manufacturing processes are carried out in-house, ensuring consistent quality for our clients.
We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours a week. In return, we offer a supportive and friendly working environment, along with a competitive salary of $105,000–$110,000 per annum.
Priority will be given to local NZ residents / citizens.
Key responsibilities:
Production Planning and Execution:
- Coordinate the development and execution of production plans toensure production targets are met.
- Adjust production schedules fl exibly based on market demand,inventory levels, and order status.
- Develop and monitor production strategies and policies to align withbusiness objectives and market conditions.
- Plan production activities in detail, considering output quality andquantity, costs, timelines, and labor requirements to optimizeresources and production flow.
Production Process Optimization:
- Monitor production processes, identify improvement opportunities,and enhance effi ciency and productivity.
- Promote and implement lean manufacturing and managementtools to reduce waste and costs.
- Direct research into new production methods and recommendinitiatives for process improvement and innovation.
Quality Management:
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulationsthroughout the production process.
- Address quality issues in production, improve processes, and minimizequality deviations.
- Control quality procedures through planned maintenance andoperational scheduling to maintain consistent product standards.
Team Management:
- Lead and manage the production team, assign tasks, and monitorperformance.
- Train and develop employees to ensure their skills align withproduction requirements.
- Oversee staff activities and assess their performance to ensurealignment with production targets and standards.
Equipment Maintenance and Safety Management:
- Monitor the operation of production equipment, ensuring regularmaintenance and repairs.
- Implement safety standards to guarantee worker safety and theproper functioning of equipment.
- Oversee the acquisition and installation of new machinery andequipment to enhance production capabilities.
- Coordinate the implementation of occupational health and safetyrequirements to ensure a secure work environment.
Cost Control and Budget Management:
- Oversee production costs and propose strategies for resourceconservation and cost reduction.
- Manage the production budget and control expenditures.
- Monitor production output and costs, making adjustments toprocesses and resource allocation to minimize expenses.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, sales, logistics, and otherdepartments to ensure the supply of raw materials and timelydelivery of fi nished products.
- Communicate production-related matters to other managers tofacilitate coordination and address any interdepartmental concerns.
Data Analysis and Decision-Making:
- Analyze production data and evaluate production effi ciency.
- Propose adjustment plans based on data insights to supportdecision-making by management.
- Ensure the preparation of accurate production records and reportsfor performance evaluation and continuous improvement.
Skills and qualifi cations:
- At least 3 years of previous experience in similar roles.
- A bachelor's degree or higher qualifi cation in manufacturing ormechancial engineering.
- Previous experience in manufacturing management within a cabinetmaking, joinery or relevant batch production environment is an advantage.
- A proven track record of managing complex workflows and familiarity with finding harmony between automated CNC machinery and excellent handcrafting.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement principles.
- Leadership and communication skills to collaborate with team leadsand other departments effectively.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and experience withproduction software.
