East/Otago Sales & Regional Agronomist

Are you passionate about agronomy, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a role that combines technical expertise with sales? Agricom is looking for a dynamic Sales & Regional Agronomist to join our team in the Otago region.

The Role

This is your chance to make a real impact in the field, supporting farmers, retailers, and industry partners with expert advice on cropping, pasture renewal, grazing management, and the use of Agricom cultivars and seed treatments. You’ll combine agronomic knowledge with a strong sales focus, building relationships, identifying opportunities, and helping customers get the best results from our products.

Key responsibilities for this role includes:


  • Build strong relationships with farmers, retailers, consultants, and contractors
  • Provide technical advice on pasture renewal, cropping, grazing, and seed technologies
  • Identify and convert new sales opportunities
  • Develop and deliver regional sales plans and budgets with the Brand Manager
  • Establish and manage on-farm demo and trial sites (including forage and animal performance trials)
  • Train retailers and farmers, and interpret agronomy and trial results
  • Participate in field days, trade shows, and other industry events
  • Report regularly on sales, marketing, and agronomy activity
  • Support regional marketing campaigns and contribute local insights
  • Collaborate with key industry organisations


You’ll need:

  • Strong background in the Seed and Grain industry
  • A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Science, or Business (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of forage plants, plant biology, and farm/grazing systems
  • Proven sales experience with a focus on growing customer relationships
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Skilled in creating engaging presentations and reports using MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience using a CRM system to manage customer data and sales insights
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
