We're looking for a passionate and experienced Chef Manager to lead operations at our MOE School Lunch production and dispatch at our Central Production Kitchen (MoE) in Penrose. You'll oversee the preparation, cooking, packing, and dispatch of meals, ensuring compliance with food safety and health standards while leading a dedicated team to deliver excellence every day.

Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities

• Manage daily food production, packing, and dispatch operations in line with the Food Control Plan.
• Ensure adequate staffing and training across kitchen, stores, and dispatch teams.
• Oversee stock ordering, storage, and rotation, including regular stocktakes.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and allergen management across all areas.
• Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  
  

He Kōrero Mōu / About You

• Hold an NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent) and NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168).
• Proven experience in a similar high-volume kitchen environment, with strong leadership skills.
• Confident managing operations within budgetary constraints and under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and a flexible, team-oriented approach.
• Physically fit, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
