InterContinental Wellington is looking for Sales Manager – Conference and Events to join our fantastic team!
Your day to day
Drive revenue and deliver standout experiences! You'll lead all aspects of Conference & Events—from sales strategy to seamless execution. As the go to for MICE key accounts, you will be responsible for overseeing both the pre-group accommodation and conference & events components of the meetings cycle as well as overseeing the implementation and running of conference and events operations.
- Proactively source and convert new C&E business through prospecting, networking, and events. Handle inquiries, proposals, site visits, and contract negotiations.
- Support annual sales strategy with the Director of Sales and meet or exceed all sales targets and KPIs
- Collaborate with clients to plan tailored events and coordinate with Operations for seamless execution, including BEOs, menus, AV, and accommodations.
- Maximize revenue through strategic pricing, upselling, and space optimization. Maintain accurate forecasts, pipelines, and CRM records.
- Work with Marketing to create campaigns and content. Leverage partnerships to increase visibility and represent the hotel at industry events.
- Keep detailed records of sales activities and provide regular performance updates. Monitor competitors and market trends to guide strategy.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel
- Detail focus with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Sharp analytical and strategic mindset to uncover and seize every revenue opportunity.
- Strong client management, problem solving and organisation skills
- In-depth knowledge of sales principles and techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
