We're looking for a detail-driven and collaborative Document Management Specialist (DMS) to join our Northpower Network team. This isn’t just a paperwork role - you’ll be a key enabler of operational excellence, technical accuracy, and safety across our network.
The role:
you’ll be the guardian of controlled documentation for our Network Team - the policies, standards and frameworks that keep our electricity network running safely and efficiently. Working closely with engineers, project managers and technical experts, you’ll create, revise, and maintain our standards to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accessibility. Think of it as building the “source of truth” for the entire network - and making it accessible, user-friendly, and future-ready.
You’ll also lead communications and training around changes to standards, supporting our teams and contractors to apply them confidently in the field.

The role:

Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and leading the rollout of a simplified document control system that supports our engineering and operations teams
- Partnering with technical experts to ensure standards are relevant, current, and interconnected
- Supporting compliance by aligning documentation with regulations, safety standards, and our Data Governance Framework
- Driving continuous improvement by leading training, audits, and change communication
- Acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on all things document-related
We’re after someone who thrives on structure and clarity, with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for high-quality documentation. You’ll enjoy working across teams, bringing a practical and people-focused approach to technical information.
You will:
- Have 3–5 years’ experience in document management, preferably in utilities or engineering
- Bring strong knowledge of document management systems and regulatory frameworks
- Understand data governance principles (e.g. from the Data Management Body of Knowledge)
- Be confident working with technical experts and senior leaders
- Have excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and document control platforms
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, information management or a related field is preferred.
