About the role | Kōrero mō te tūranga
We are seeking a visionary Chief Marketing Officer to lead and transform AUT's marketing and brand strategy. As CMO, you will ensure AUT's brand is current, relevant, and fit for purpose — resonating with prospective students, whānau, and communities across New Zealand and within our international markets.
A key goal of the role is to drive student recruitment and engagement — across domestic, online, and face-to-face modes. You will bring together strategic insight, creativity, and data-driven decision-making to elevate our presence and connect with future learners.
This role also plays a central part in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including faculties, executive leadership, government, iwi, and industry, ensuring alignment of marketing initiatives with AUT's strategic priorities.

You are a strategic and forward-thinking marketing leader with a proven track record in brand transformation and high-impact campaigns. You will also bring:
- Experience leading the delivery of marketing and brand services in a large complex environment
- Overseeing large-scale student recruitment strategies
- Demonstrated influential leadership
- Developing and managing complex relationships across internal and external stakeholders
