Join Skills Group as a key member of our Specialist Trades division in our new Dunedin campus. In this hands-on position, you’ll inspire and support learners in plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying, guiding them to achieve their goals and excel in their careers. As a tutor, you’ll play a vital role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our branch, supporting learners’ well-being, and delivering innovative, high-quality training that sets them up for success.

Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our branch, supporting learners’ well-being, and delivering innovative, high-quality training that sets them up for success.
Your Key Responsibilities
- You’ll provide hands-on, day-to-day support to your colleagues to ensure branch and group success and work collaboratively foster excellent collaboration between branches and all staff.
- You will demonstrate and initiate positive interaction with students, be aware of their general welfare, and identify their specific and general needs.
- You will employ appropriate teaching techniques, equipment and resources, establish clear and achievable learning objectives and outcomes, and continuously monitor progress and effectiveness via assessment and student feedback.
- You’ll be innovative and look for ways to wow and engage your internal and external customers, while building a strong commercial focus.
- Your role is key to ensuring internal and external relationships are managed well and that staff, students and other stakeholders feel valued.
- You will be responsible for all Health & Safety requirements in all training delivered.
- Your objectives are set and agreed each year and reviewed during monthly one-on-one meetings.
Your qualifications & skills:
- Certified in Plumbing, Gasfitting, and/or Drainlaying.
- Tutoring experience, and/or an understanding of the apprenticeship process and qualifications.
