ROOFER

HEADWAY BUILDING LIMITED located in Christchurch, is looking for 1 full-time ROOFER to join our team. As a ROOFER, you will be working a minimum of 30 hours per week on a roster. You will be responsible for:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and work sites to identify required materials.
• Assembling ladders and scaffolding.
• Installing waterproof sheets over eaves.
• Securing roofing underlay to roofs with nails and staples.
• Aligning the first row of roofing material with the roof edges and fastening it with wire, staples, and nails.
• Cutting roofing materials to fit around vents, chimneys, corners, and ridges.
• Using cement mortar to fix edge and ridge tiles.
• Placing roofing material under pre-fabricated flashing and nailing it down.
• Caulking and sealing exposed nail heads to prevent leaks.

To fit this position, you are required:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience or NZQF Level 4 qualification.
• Physically fit with a clear criminal record.
