Programme Facilitator, Community Participation

  • Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday – Friday 8:00/8:30am to 4:30/5:00pm
  • Work is performed across the Waitemata &/or Rodney regions
  • Pay Equity: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (Service falls under Pay Equity. Pay is determined by qualification and equivalence to the National Certificate of Health and Wellbeing L4)

The Service | Ko Te Whare O Akiaki Ora

Akiaki Ora is a well-established part of Ember Services Limited that delivers community based mental health programmes in the Auckland region. Providing a variety of skills-based programmes that promote life skills, community integration and preparation for employment.

The focus of our work is on the strengths of individuals which allow them to establish achievable goals that meet their needs and aspirations.


The Role | Nga mahi

We are seeking an energetic and innovative Facilitator to work with individuals to fulfil identified needs that would encourage citizenship through meaningful community engagement, education, employment, natural supportive relationships, including family and friends, and health and wellness. This will be carried out through one-on-one and/or group facilitation following a Strengths Assessment and development of Personal Goal Plans. Client base and where the work is done will predominantly be in the Waitemata &/or Rodney regions. Applicants will ideally reside in this area.

Needs may include:

  • The development of interpersonal skills that improve his/her quality of life
  • Access to further study
  • Employment preparation
  • Engagement within their local community and activities of choice


You will have | Nga Pukenga

  • A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or equivalent
  • A Full NZ Drivers Licence
  • A valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship
  • The ability to work in a team environment and from a bicultural perspective.
  • A professional attitude and have good boundaries and ethics.
  • Experience working in the area of mental health
  • A passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery
