Roof Tilers

Lanziu Ltd is a small-sized construction company in Auckland, and we specialize in painting and roofing work for construction projects. We now need two Roof Tilers to join our busy team. This is a full-time position, with 30 guaranteed hours of work every week, but normally you will need to work around 40 hours/week.

The tasks for this role include:

• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine the quantity and type of materials required for roofing work

• Set up and dismantle ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment as necessary for access and safety compliance

• Install waterproofing sheets over eaves to protect roof structures from water damage

• Apply roofing underlay by stapling or nailing it securely to the roof framework

• Lay out and align starter rows of tiles with the edges of the roof, fastening them with wire, nails, or staples, and ensure proper overlapping of successive tile layers

• Measure, cut, and shape roofing materials to fit precisely around roof features such as chimneys, vents, ridges, and corners

• Secure ridge and edge tiles using cement mortar to ensure a durable and weather-resistant finish

• Insert roofing tiles under pre-installed flashings and secure them in place

• Apply caulking and flashings over exposed nail heads and seams to prevent water penetration and leaks

Requirements for this role:

• Have at least two years of work experience in construction work

• Have good communication and coordination skills

• Have an attention to detail

• Be able to work both as a team and independently

• Have your own transport
