Hourly Rate: $26.00 per hour
Job Description:
Changthai, a well-established Thai restaurant in Christchurch, is seeking two skilled and passionate Thai Cooks to join our kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is experienced in authentic Thai cuisine and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes to a high standard
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage food preparation during busy service periods
- Assist in menu development and special dish creation as needed
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
Job Pre-requisites:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience AND/OR a Level 4 certificate or higher in cookery or related culinary training
- Proficient in preparing a wide variety of traditional authentic Thai dishes
- Prefer applicants who can prepare roasted pork and duck dishes and Thai desserts
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask
Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
