Senior Systems Engineer (Enterprise Services)
Position Purpose: The Enterprise Services practice is responsible for the design, provision,
operation, security, and management of the key IT enabling services used
by the university. These include business productivity systems such as
Microsoft 365, enterprise systems, identity and access systems,
databases, and other data management practices including the
management and flow of data between systems.
The Senior Systems Engineer (ES) leads the delivery of operations,
provision, and design work within the practice. They will have broad
responsibility for work throughout the lifecycle of systems (e.g. design,
build, test, deploy, operate, support, retire) and will be responsible for
optimising the design and delivery of services in cost-effective manner
whilst maintaining system performance, availability and security.
They have deep technical knowledge and use their expertise to advance
the capability of the team, providing guidance to other engineers within
their domain of expertise, ensuring knowledge is developed and shared
within the team and with other areas (e.g. End User Support) as part of
providing high-quality and joined-up service experience for end users.
They will have broad responsibility for work throughout the lifecycle of
systems (e.g. design, build, test, deploy, operate, support, retire) and will
be responsible for optimising the design and delivery of services in cost-
effective manner whilst maintaining system performance, availability and
security.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications: • A tertiary qualification in an IT or Business Management subject, or
equivalent extensive industry experience.
- Industry recognised certification in Systems Engineering at a senior
