About the Role:
Mercury is seeking a dynamic Capability & Change Lead to drive enterprise-wide transformation by translating strategic objectives into targeted change and capability uplift pathways. This role operates as a strategic enabler across priority portfolios, accelerating the organisation's transformation readiness through methodologies such as Adaptive, Agile, LEAN, and High Performing Teams. As a culture catalyst, the Capability & Change Lead fosters the mindsets, behaviours, and systemic practices required for enduring change and organisational agility. Acting as a trusted advisor to Senior Leaders, the role ensures transformation outcomes are achieved by embedding sustainable new ways of working and building capability for continuous evolution.
There is flexibility for this role to be based in Tauranga, Auckland or Hamilton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Senior Leaders to align on strategic outcomes, assess current capabilities, and design targeted change strategies.
- Lead immersive learning experiences and high-impact engagements to enable mindset shifts, behavioural change, and practical capability development.
- Coach and influence senior leaders and change champions to model essential leadership practices.
- Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement and communication strategies tailored to organisational dynamics.
- Create and maintain feedback and measurement frameworks to assess adoption and capability development outcomes.
- Collaborate with program and enterprise teams to embed change and capability lenses into planning and governance processes.
- Advocate for flexible mindsets, shared learning, and system-wide behavioural reinforcement.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to sense transformation dynamics and adapt strategies proactively.
We are looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in organisational development, business, psychology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional certification in methodologies such as Prosci, APMG, Agile, LEAN, Adaptive preferred.
- Strong experience in organisational change, transformation capability, learning and development, or related disciplines.
- Proven ability to design and execute capability development initiatives aligned to business performance outcomes.
- Experience applying transformation methodologies tailored to business needs and culture.
- Demonstrated success influencing leadership behaviours, shaping culture, and building adaptive capability at scale.
