The Role The Media Account Executive reports directly to the Media Business Director and Head of Media, working across all the teams to assist in various tasks.

The primary function of the role is to provide support to the Planning, Strategy and Trading teams, in turn learning the world of media, from the ground up.

As a support role, the Media Account Executive, will gain key learnings across all facets of media which will, in turn, provide the first career step into media.

Contacts Internal Primary contact will be within the Media Department working with the Trading, Planning and Strategy teams. There will also be regular contact with all members of the wider agency team (client service and creative). External Contacts with media partners and their advertising departments via the issuing of media orders/contracts and the instructing of campaigns.

There will also be contact with production department/s and media owners regarding the supply of material before deadline on a day-to-day basis for the VML Group clients.

Major Responsibilities The Media Account Executive role has four key areas of responsibility: Trading and Implementation support. Strategy & Planning team support. Building media knowledge. Attitude/Enthusiasm/Commitment. Trading and Implementation Support Assists the teams with various tasks to ensure day-to-day efficiency of workflow Tasks will include functions across TV, Radio, Out of Home, Cinema, Print and Digital. Preparing Instructions, dispatches and specs for all media

Inputting media contracts and confirmation into Pegasus and checking against plans. Compiling audience analysis, with the use of Nielsen analysis tools (training provided). Assisting with collating of information of media development both locally and internationally. Implementation support for digital campaigns across video, display platforms (Meta, TikToK, Google etc). Strategy and Planning Team Support Assisting with brainstorms and group research projects. Assisting with competitive expenditure reports and campaign post analysis on behalf of clients.

Key elements of such reports include extracting the data, considering the numbers and gleaning insights (all with support from the planning teams). Researching of new news for social media content across different categories. Proof of posting, collecting tear-sheets etc, and compiling into a reporting deck. Assisting the teams with audience analysis to prepare consumer insights - using a mixture of research tools and web-based sources. Populating templates for campaign post-analyses. Building Media Knowledge We view this role as a steppingstone to media planning or buying after a suitable period of training and gaining experience. Learning how to use the media research products is a key part of this process. As is having regular contact with media owners gaining knowledge of each of their offerings. Collating examples of great use of media/creative/case studies. Assisting with keeping wider agency clients up to date with the latest media advancements and best practises. Attitude/Enthusiasm/Commitment Demonstrates energy levels and dedication to learn. Shows a willingness to assist in overload situations that will arise from time to time. Demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to get the job done by set deadlines and be prepared to apply the hours required to get through the workload.
